Preparing for Spring

Right, let’s all use lockdown 3.0 to channel some of our extra time into a positive start towards spring. How can we do this?

Simple…..lets sort!

I am going to try and equip you with the skills to start thinking about how you edit your wardrobes.

The first questions tho is, what is your style personality?

Style Personality, what’s that? Well, if you know what your style personality is, then you're a step closer to being able to edit your wardrobe.

A style personality is your personality expressed through what you wear. I am going to make it super easy for you and break it down into the different personalities. We will then look at how to apply this into your wardrobe edit.

The Classic personality is the women that is well organised, focused, keeps her looks simple, but well groomed and enjoys clean and simple lines.

The dramatic personality likes to make a statement and be noticed. She will choose bright and bold colours, bold prints and patterns and loves detail. The dramatic personality is a women who knows what she likes, confident and displays power through what she wears.

The Natural Personality is a laid back character who will tend to choose comfort and pratical over trends. She is a relaxed and happy person, who shows that in what she wears. She tends to go for simple detail, looser styles and soft fabrics.

The Romantic personality screams being a women! She loves detail, frills, floral, pattern and soft flowing materials. The floaty maxi dress is a perfect expression of this personality.

The creative personality is exactly that!…she is brave, bold, confident and not scared to step out in her style. Her clothes show her laid back and independent character and she loves to create an impact.

The Urban personality is a mixture of street style and other sub cultures that express her edge. She loves detail, heavier material like denim. Military and khaki are also a strong part of this personality, and is likely to be found in functional footwear.

Now you hopefully have a rough idea of what style personality you are, lets chat 4 easy steps to keep in mind when you edit your wardrobe

  1. Identify what your missing - take a good look at your wardrobe and see what colours, patterns, items your missing. Keep a note of these!

  2. Item - For each item you need to ask yourself do I wear this, like this, does it suit my body shape?

  3. Assessing - this is the fun bit! Create 4 piles…..items you’re keeping, items to be sold/charity, altered items and finally seasonal items that can be stored away. Less is more!

  4. Organising - start grouping items together to make it easier to store and view your items. For example, all the blouses, dresses, jeans grouped. I will often colour co-ordinate within these sections too.

I hope this blog has helped answer some of your wardrobe edit questions.
